Thomas Vorce, June 2009 Feature

I believe that the foundations of photography were laid down in black and white and the mastery of this technique is essential to the way we select and compose that which is worthy of distinction. I have selected shadows as a theme because they exist with an infinite variety and work to define the hours of the day as well as the objects they profile. When your eyes are opened to shadows, even common realities take on another dimension and it is this 'other dimension' that I wish to celebrate in my images.
