Most of my work stems from a love of emotion captured in moments of passion between people: an exchange of an embrace, a child’s kiss that breaks into a laugh on an old mans cheek, or a woman’s chest taking in a breath from the sun. Some of them are isolated moments, of a baby or child caught for a moment in thought or just sleep.

I paint to share life through my eyes. By capturing these times when people are living and loving or sad, I am then able to transform these photos into art pieces. Through charcoal and pastel, I can put a new spin on what was once black and white and bring it to life with more colors.

Painting is meant to educate and express the human feelings we all have. Through my paintings, I hope that people are reminded of the fragility of life and their luck in just existing. There is beauty in even the mundane things we all do and regardless of race or religion, we are all the same.
