November 2010 Featured Artist: Lizzy Forrester
There is something of an uneasiness when it comes to talking or writing about my work........ I become confused when I try to define what simply comes from the heart. What comes from a space untouched by judgment, a space of freedom, of peace.. the experience is beyond words and yet for all to share.
(I really don't like to talk about my artwork,) In fact, I prefer my art to speak for itself: So when someone expresses a similar emotion or experience upon viewing a work that echoes what I have felt when lost in my creative process, or be taken with or by a painting in the same way I was in awe of the beauty in nature when painting a particular landscape, I am overwhelmed and at the same time humbled by it.
It is so inspiring and encouraging, and it completes the need, a circle, that of sharing. To be able to share peace through creativity is a privilege.
