SFAW OCTOBER, 2008 FEATURE: JESSE BURKE
As an artist, one of the great joys of my life is having a blank canvas or blank paper in front of me and knowing that I can create something that has never existed, the unknown. Like a lot of other artists, I believe the creative process is what inspires me the most. While having an end result that I am pleased with and can stir up emotions in other people is another goal of mine, the physical act of painting or drawing -- being there at the moment when everything comes together -- that's when I can sit back and know why I do what I do. Art brings strength, happiness, and purpose to my life, and brings me a peace of mind I can never find with anything else.
