Renee Rouillier, (page 1, and page 2) a South Carolina earthenware sculptor working in mixed media examines sociological behavior within her works including family ideals, social structures, as well the individual state of enlightenment and how it affects the global consciousness.
In the art world, some times we have a tendency to call an invisible idea never manifested art for what the mind creates out of nothing. When unfortunately pressed to rationalize nothing exhibited in an empty room other than the reactions of people discovering that someone paid large sums of cash for nothing other than ego as the only art form, we might then understand that often art is an expression of human nature or the depiction thereof. While in relation to society that people are artists when they create drama out of nothing.
Renee's actually manifested in form works require no words to describe the emotion resounding in her creations thus giving birth to the unspoken words of prose through self examination of the viewer created in her art. Further her in depth examination of a faceless interactive society and the unrecognized insanity humans create in their own world leaves the viewer cognitive of how empty the ego is leaving one to question rightfully so what is sane and what is not in all aspects of human trappings and social expectations isolating those who actually have insight from the larger masses or smaller clicks who continually give birth to the rise and fall of a separated world ultimately resulting in death of humanity. Utilizing the powers of observation in combination with allegorical symbolism without drama, Rouillier's message is as rare but as necessary as unpolluted air in that it might be good for us to come together as one without ego and values which separate us as a whole.
