Richard Scott

Richard's work draws from dreams, memory, and reality to create a world of poetry and myth. Each element in his paintings; from the subject, to the way that they are painted, holds a symbolic significance. Throughout his work, literary and philosophical themes are interwoven in a complex but harmonious fabric, which seems both steeped in history and entrenched in the present.

Richard earned a Bachelor's at the University of Georgia and a Master's at the New York Academy of Art. He further cultivated his skills as a copyist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Richard resides in New York City where he teaches, works as a studio painter for Jeff Koons, and produces his original work. He has contributed to many benefit auctions at venues including Phillips de Pury & Co and has exhibited both in New York and internationally. He is the founder of the collaborative artist forum Art Babel.
